Orioles Officially Sign Hyun-soo Kim

BALTIMORE (WJZ) -- The Orioles have agreed to a 2-year deal with South Korean Hyun-soo Kim.

Kim has been called Korea's "Iron Man" for appearing in most games in each of his nine-plus seasons with the Bears and is considered one of the best hitters and most durable players. The left-handed hitter boasted a batting average of .318 over 10 seasons with the Doosan Bears of the Korea Baseball Organization.

He had a career-high 28 home runs and 121 runs-batted-in while drawing 101 walks in 141 games this past season, after which he became a free agent. Those stats are a big plus for an Orioles team that had the third fewest walks (418) and third most strikeouts (1,331) in the American League this past season.

Welcome to Baltimore, Hyun-soo!
