Officials Advise Cherry Blossom Fans To Leave Drones At Home

WASHINGTON (AP) -- Visitors to Washington's cherry blossom festival are being asked to leave their drones at home.

The National Cherry Blossom Festival begins this weekend ahead of the predicted peak bloom next week.

The Federal Aviation Administration has released a video to remind the public that it is against the law to fly a drown anywhere in the nation's capital.

The National Park Service has forecast that March 23 and 24 will be the start of peak bloom for cherry blossoms, the pink and white flowers that unofficially signal spring's arrival.

Peak bloom means at least 70 percent of the trees around the Tidal Basin are blossoming.
