Officer Rescues Deer Stuck in Light Globe In NY

BALTIMORE (WJZ)—A New York Environmental Conservation Officer came to the rescue after a deer's head got stuck in a light globe.

Authorities say it happened on Tuesday morning Centereach, NY, when the deer somehow lodged its head inside the light.

The NYS Department of Environmental Conservation says the deer had been laying in the woods since the night before after the unfortunate incident.

"On his first attempt, the wet globe slipped out of [Officer Hull's] hands and the deer ran into a nearby downed tree, causing it to fall," official said.

On a second attempt, ECO Hull was able to throw his coat over the glove and "bear hug" the light globe until the deer managed to slip away.

The deer escaped unharmed.

Authorities say the officer was "left with a good story and a few bruises but his integrity intact."
