Officer In Critical But Stable Condition After Being Struck By Car

BALTIMORE (WJZ) -- An off-duty Baltimore City police officer is in critical but stable condition after being struck by a car while he was traveling on his motorcycle.

According to police, he was driving west in the 42-hundred block of Moravia Road at the 46-hundred block of Belair Road when a car struck him. Police say the car failed to yield the right of way to the officer.

According to witnesses, the car's passenger, a woman, got out and checked on the officer. Then she got back into the car, which fled north on Belair Road. The car is believed to possibly be a Ford Taurus.
