Ocean City Police: Calls Unchanged, While Arrests Drop

OCEAN CITY, Md. (AP) -- Police in Ocean City say calls for service were about the same last year, but arrests dropped.

WXDE-FM reports that the Ocean City Police Department's year-end report was released last week to the town's mayor and council.

The report shows that the department's total number of service calls was about the same as 2012. The number of calls for service generated by citizen complaints decreased last year.

Police say the number of arrests dropped 30 percent -- from 4,355 in 2012 to 3,021 last year. Meanwhile, the number of citations and warnings increased about 30 percent from 20,124 in 2012 to 26,314 last year.
