Nurse Acquitted Of Assault, Sex Offense Against Patient

UPPER MARLBORO, Md. (AP) -- A nurse accused of inappropriately touching a patient while he was treating her in a hospital emergency room has been found not guilty of assault and a sex offense.

A jury acquitted 38-year-old Jared Kline of Springfield, Virginia, on Friday, the Prince George's County State's Attorney's Office said in a news release.

Prosecutors had alleged that in January 2014, Kline was a nurse at Bowie Medical Center when a woman who was sick from something she ate was a patient there.

Prosecutors had claimed that Kline rubbed his groin against the patient's hand and arm while treating her.

Kline is awaiting trial on charges that he sexually abused three patients at hospitals in Washington.
