No Charges For Boy With Plastic Gun In Harford County Park

FALLSTON, Md. (WJZ) -- Authorities in Harford County say a video showing a boy being arrested with what looked like a rifle at a Fallston park Thursday isn't what it seems.

A Facebook video by Rovall Washington, shows the teen in what looks like handcuffs, being escorted by a Harford County Sheriff's deputy out of Annie's Playground.

Deputies were called to the seen after several concerned citizens called to report a teen swinging what looked like a rifle in the park. Authorities however tell WJZ the gun was plastic, but the orange barrel cap was removed.

Although the 14-year-old boy was taken into custody, he was not arrested, authorities tell WJZ.

Washington's video has been shared more than 3,100 times on Facebook.

No charges have been filed in the case as there was no threat to the public.
