NIH Treats Woman With Rare Disease

BETHESDA, Md. (WJZ) - A woman with a rare form of Tuberculosis is currently is stable condition while being treated at the National Institute of Health in Bethesda.

The unidentified woman has been diagnosed with an "extensively drug-resistant Tuberculosis" and is in an isolation center at the Maryland medical facility.

The Center for Disease Control says the woman traveled from India to Chicago back in April in addition to spending time in Missouri and Tennessee recently.

Now, health officials are searching for people she may have come in contact with while traveling.
