New Sunday Night Football Theme Song Is On Its Way

BALTIMORE (WJZ) -- Carrie Underwood's "Waiting All Day For Sunday Night" will no longer be the song of Sunday night football.

For the first time in 10 years, there will be a new song for television's highest-rated program.

Underwood will debut a re-worked take of her song "Something Bad," a duet with Miranda Lambert that was a No. 1 hit on the Billboard country charts in 2014. According to the Associated Press, "Oh, Sunday Night," will premiere when the Patriots meet the Cardinals when the 2016 season kicks off on September 11.

"Waiting All Day For Sunday Night" was a new version of an old Joan Jett hit "I Hate Myself For Loving You" and they have been using the tune since 2006. Underwood inherited the song after singers like Pink (2006) and Faith Hill (2007-2012).
