Neighborhood At Heart Of Baltimore Riot Celebrates After Charges Filed

BALTIMORE (WJZ) -- A celebration is unfolding in the neighborhood at the center of the Baltimore protests.

Rick Ritter has more.

This is an area on Monday on Tuesday that many say looked like a war zone but now it's a celebration.

A fraternity had a prayer service to share how happy they were at having justice brought to the community.

"My heart told me to come down here," said one woman. "I just want peace in the city."

"The cause really grew pretty quickly but it's more about justice for Freddie Gray. It's about getting justice for these communities," said Councilman Nick Mosby.

Many say this is huge for the city.

"It's been wonderful," said a woman. "I'm glad it didn't take a month or two for Freddie Gray to get justice. I pray for his family."
