National Aquarium's 'Pay What You Want Day' Raised More Than $33K

BALTIMORE, Md. (WJZ)—The National Aquarium's "Pay What You Want Day" held this past Sunday raised more than $30,000 officials announced on Wednesday.

The aquarium welcomed over 7,500 people where guests had the opportunity to choose the price of their admission with all funds supporting the organization's conservation efforts.

"We are so thankful to those who joined us for Pay What You Want Day," said John Racanelli, CEO of the National Aquarium. "This initiative was an opportunity for us to demonstrate our support for the local community, who in turn support us and the important work we do."

Pay What You Want Day is all part of the National Aquarium's continuing effort to extend community access to all Marylanders.
