Baltimore man named as shooter in triple murder-suicide of family in Joppatowne
BALTIMORE -- Deputies are investigating an apparent triple murder-suicide after four people, including a teenager, were killed in a shooting Saturday morning in a Harford County apartment.
The Harford County Sheriff's Office said a 34-year-old man was believed to have shot his mother, cousin and nephew before turning the gun on himself.
Devin Brown, 34; Sherlyn Ann Pitts, 65; and Sheena Yvonne Smothers, 38, died in the apartment in the 300 block of Trimble Road. A minor was taken to the hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Officers responded around 11:30 a.m. Saturday morning after receiving a report about a possible active shooter.
When deputies arrived, four people were found with gunshot wounds.
Deputies said that sometime during the visit, Brown, from Baltimore, pulled out a gun and shot his three family members before killing himself.
Deputies are on scene for an incident that occurred on the 300 block of Trimble Rd, Joppa, for a report of a confirmed shooting with multiple victims. Currently there is no threat to the community. Media staging area will be Joppatown High School, 555 Joppa Farm Rd, Joppa, MD.
