MTA Police Partnering With Baltimore Communities

BALTIMORE (AP) — Maryland Transit Administration police are partnering with communities across the Baltimore region to raise crime prevention awareness.

MTA police will be at the Cherry Hill Light Rail Station and the West Cold Spring Metro Subway Station on Tuesday evening to offer tips on recognizing and preventing criminal activities.

Police also will be on hand to boost support and participation in local anti-crime programs and strengthen police and community relations.

They are partnering with the National Association of Town Watch. The organization's yearlong effort to fight crime culminates in National Night Out. That's a nationwide series of activities that include front porch vigils and a variety of citywide and neighborhood events, such as block parties, cookouts, parades, festivals and safety fairs.
