Motorcyclist Dead After Collision In Md.

BOWIE, Md. (AP) -- Prince George's County Police say a motorcyclist was killed when he collided with a car in Bowie.

It happened about 5:50 p.m. Monday on Laurel Bowie Road. Police say 36-year-old Ali Blackshear of Washington was traveling south when he veered his motorcycle into oncoming traffic to avoid hitting a stopped vehicle.

Officers say Blackshear crashed into a car traveling north. He was pronounced dead at a local hospital.

The crash is under investigation.
