Morgan State Graduate, Black Enterprise Founder Earl G. Graves Sr. Dies At 85

BALTIMORE (WJZ) -- The founder of Black Enterprise and Morgan State University graduate Earl G. Graves passed away Monday, April 6. He was 85.

Black Enterprise tweeted the information early Tuesday morning.

"We will evermore celebrate his life and legacy, in this, our 50th Anniversary Year, and beyond," they tweeted.

Graves' son Earl Graves, Jr., said his father died after a long battle with Alzheimer's.

"I loved and admired this giant of a man, and am blessed to be his namesake," Earl Butch Graves Jr. tweeted.

In a statement, Morgan State University President David Wilson issued a lengthy statement saying Graves' legacy will live on at the university forever:

"This son of Morgan was a legend in his own right and a great individual whose loss we mourn tremendously. On behalf of the entire Morgan family, including our Board of Regents, faculty, staff, students and alumni around the world, we extend our collective condolences to the entire Graves family, and all of his friends, during this period of grief. He will be sorely missed."
