More Charges For Md. Man In Grandparents' Slaying

HAGERSTOWN, Md. (AP) -- A Washington County grand jury is adding seven counts to the murder and assault charges facing a Keedysville man in fatal stabbing of his grandparents.

The 15-count indictment filed Tuesday against Joseph William Minoglio, 19, alleges abuse of a vulnerable adult, weapons violations and motor vehicle theft in addition to the previous charges of first- and second-degree murder and first- and second-degree assault.

Defense attorney David Harbin declined to comment Wednesday on the indictment. Harbin says he'll file appropriate pleadings in the near future.

Minoglio is charged with killing 84-year-old Joseph Michael Minoglio and 78-year-old Peggy Minoglio on March 15 in the home they shared. Police say he drove his grandparents' car to Montgomery County, Va., where he turned himself in after calling 911 and confessing to the killings.
