Montgomery County Scheduled To Act On Lawn Pesticides Bill

ROCKVILLE, Md. (AP) -- The Montgomery County Council is scheduled to take action on a bill relating to pesticide use on lawns.

The council is set to gather Tuesday to consider the measure.

The bill would have banned the use of pesticides on most lawns.

A council panel has recommended major modifications to the proposal.

Council President George Leventhal, the measure's lead sponsor, says a compromise may have been reached by a majority of the council on the measure's provisions.
