Montgomery County Police Investigating Murder-Suicide Attempt

MONTGOMERY COUNTY, Md. (WJZ) -- A 67-year-old man shot his 89-year-old father in a car before shooting himself, according to police.

Montgomery County Police officers were called to the area of Norbeck Road near Georgia Avenue at the Park and Ride commuter lot around 4:13 p.m. Saturday for two shooting victims in a vehicle.

First responders found two men inside a gold Toyota Prius. One of the victims -- who was in the front passenger seat -- was found dead, and a second man in the driver seat was taken to an area hospital in critical condition.

Investigations said Thomas Wiley lived in a nearby apartment with his son, Thomas Greg Wiley. Police believe Greg Wiley shot his father in the Prius before shooting himself.

A note believed to be left by Greg Wiley was located in the vehicle, as well as a handgun.

Greg Wiley's condition has not yet been announced.

The body of Thomas Wiley was sent to Chief Medical Examiner for an autopsy.
