Montgomery Co. Snow Day Waiver Granted

The state this week granted Montgomery County's request for a waiver of four snow days with a plan to make up two school days.

The waiver was approved with a plan to hold classes on Easter Monday and to make the final day of classes June 13.

Prince George's County was given a two-day waiver. The county will extend the school year by two days, which classes ending June 13.

Schools must have a minimum of 180 days of class, but the state Board of Education is allowing Superintendent Lillian Lowery to grant waivers allowing as few as 175 days this year.
