Real Estate Representative Murdered Inside Of Model Home, Killer At Large
ANNE ARUNDEL CO., Md. (WJZ) -- Steven Wilson was working inside a model home in the Shipley's Homestead community in Hanover when someone killed him just after 5 p.m. Wednesday evening.
"It's alarming," said Frank Shaul who lives several doors away. "I saw him walking around with customers around 4:30. ...It's very odd... that someone comes up and kills a salesperson. That just doesn't make any sense to me."

The family issued this statement to WJZ:
"Steven Bernard Wilson passed away December 5, 2018. Steve was a loving husband, father, son, brother, and friend. He is survived by his wife and daughters. The family is awaiting the results of a police investigation of his death and has no comment at this time."
Dozens Anne Arundel County Police cadets canvassed the area behind the home Thursday morning.

Sgt. Jacklyn Davis described the new community of half-million-dollar homes as a "quiet area."
"It's not a place we're called to at all. It's a shocking and heartbreaking case all the way around."
Hellgren asked her whether Wilson was targeted. "We don't know the motive at this time. We don't know if it was a random act. We don't know if it was targeted. It still could be a case of mistaken identity," Sgt. Davis said.
Wilson was able to dial 911 for help.
A source tells WJZ there were cameras inside the model home that captured the suspect. That source also says the suspect came from woods behind the home, first trying to enter from a back door before entering through the front. Then, the suspect fled into the woods behind the house.
The Anne Arundel County Association of Realtors has urged real estate professionals to be alert to their surroundings.
Police won't release information on the murder weapon or a description of the suspect or suspects. They say Wilson was working inside the home alone at the time.
He was 33 years old.
