MLB Playoff Preview with Cliff Corcoran

Cliff Corcoran, from Sports Illustrated, joins The Scott Garceau Show with Jeremy Conn regarding MLB Post Season Play. There are only 4 games remaining in the regular season and Jeremy asked Cliff how he felt about the Orioles going into the post season. "They have just a good chance as anyone. The division as a whole is very underwhelming and the Orioles took advantage of that." He says "there's not a team in this AL picture that scares me."

With no one standing out in the American League, Scott asked who his favorite is going into the post season for the National League. "I like the Nationals. I feel like everything is coming together for them. The rotation is healthy. I feel like everything is clicking for the Nationals. Going into the post season for both divisions, the Nationals are the team I like the most."

In the National League, both Pittsburgh and St. Louis have clinched playoff spots and will be playing in the postseason. Corcoran states "home field advantage will be big for the Pirates." The Cardinals, who lost Tuesday night to the Cubs, are ahead of the Pirates in the NL Central by only 1 ½ games.
The guys also discussed Buck Showalter being possible Coach of the Year. Corcoran feels "Showalter has been essential for turning this team around, he's almost the only candidate at this point."
