Mike Bordick With An Orioles Update From The West Coast

Mike Bordick is a former Orioles shortstop who is now one of the color commentators for game broadcasts on MASN.

Mike joined Ed and Steve to talk about the O's western road trip and the roster post trade deadline.

Steve asked Mike about the impact starting pitcher Tyler Wilson will have on this Orioles rotation after an excellent start last night. Mike thinks Wilson has a lot to offer the club moving forward saying that he is a "great competitor with great stuff, he's going to make a major impact on this team."

Ed asked Mike about his thoughts on whether the Orioles did enough at the trade deadline to compete with the big spending Toronto Blue Jays. Mike thinks the Orioles did what they could to keep pace and remain competitive saying that the Orioles "were not going to break the bank to reach the postseason. You don't want to disrupt things too much, we have a good core group of players. Chemistry is really important."

Mike went on to discuss the recent Tommy Hunter trade, as well as his thoughts on Caleb Joseph potentially taking over as the everyday catcher for the Orioles next year. Mike finished up by saying that Manny Machado would get his vote for Orioles MVP.
