Mike Bordick On Machado Vs Ventura Fight At Camden Yards

Mike Bordick is a former Orioles shortstop who now provides color commentary for Orioles broadcasts on MASN.

Mike joined Ed and Steve to talk about last night's win over the Royals which featured Manny Machado charging the mound.

Mike started out by talking about his reaction to the fight from last night's game saying, "I was never one to charge the mound but it really seemed to be set up in the second inning, I'm surprised something didn't happen right there." As for how he could see it coming Mike said, "I expected something to happen in Manny's third at bat and it did, and you could tell Ventura's teammates weren't behind him."

As for whether or not the league should address intentionally hitting players with a pitch Mike said: "I guess so with the habitual offenders the guys who do it obviously, guys like Ventura with the track record...part of the game is having the ability to pitch inside but there is a difference between pitching inside and throwing at someone."

Mike also talked about how the Orioles line-up responded perfectly to the brawl with back to back homers, and overall with the 9-1 win.
