Michael Bloomberg Donates $150M To Johns Hopkins University For Diversity STEM Intiative

BALTIMORE (WJZ) -- Billionaire Michael Bloomberg donated $150 million to Johns Hopkins University.

The alumnus said the money will create the "Vivian Thomas Scholars Initiative." It's named in honor of the Black scientist who developed heart surgery techniques there.

It will create 100 new slots for students from HBCU's and UMBC, earning their PHD in any STEM subject.
