Metro To Open Early For Rock 'N' Roll Marathon

WASHINGTON (AP) -- Metro will open two hours early to help runners get to the Rock `N' Roll Marathon in Washington this weekend.

Metro says it will open at 5 a.m. Saturday, the day of the marathon.

Most of Metro's five lines will have regular weekend service. That includes the yellow and orange lines.

Riders traveling on the blue line will have regular service except at the Franconia-Springfield station, where trains will arrive and depart every 20 to 25 minutes between 9 a.m. and 9 p.m.

On the green line, riders can expect regular service except buses will replace trains at the Greenbelt station only.

Red line riders will see trains every 16 minutes, or every 10 minutes from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. between Farragut North and Silver Spring.
