Metro To Conduct Drill At Silver Line Station

FAIRFAX, Va. (AP) -- Local law enforcement officials and the Metro Transit Police will be conducting an exercise at a Metro station set to open as part of the new silver line.

Metro says that the exercise at the Wiehle-Reston East station will begin at 8 a.m. Sunday and take several hours to complete. Metro says the purpose of the exercise is to test response from multiple agencies to an emergency scenario on the new line.

Metro says residents may notice police and emergency personnel in the area of the station but should know it is just a drill.

The line's first five stations from East Falls Church to Wiehle-Reston East are expected to open this summer.
