Metro Extends Overnight Parking Until Tuesday

WASHINGTON (AP) -- Anyone with a car parked in a Metro parking lot will get an extra day of free parking.

Metro said Sunday in a statement that it will not enforce overnight parking restrictions on Sunday or Monday. Metro says parking gates will remain in the open position through 9:30 a.m. Tuesday. That means vehicles can exit garages free of charge through then.

Metro says parking fees are expected to go back into effect on Tuesday.
