Metro: Expect Longer Weekend Waits On Some Lines

WASHINGTON (AP) -- Metro says there will be longer waits for trains on some lines this weekend.

Metro says beginning Friday and continuing through system closing on Sunday, trains on the orange line will operate every 24 minutes. In addition, on the red line, trains will operate every 20 minutes between Shady Grove and Glenmont. During the day, from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m., there will be additional trains between Shady Grove and NoMa. Trains will run every ten to 12 minutes between those stations.

There will be regular weekend service on the green line, but free shuttle buses will replace trains to and from the Greenbelt station.

Trains on the blue and yellow lines will have regular weekend service.
