Metro Announces Work For Memorial Day Holiday

WASHINGTON (AP) -- Most Metro lines will operate on a normal schedule over the Memorial Day weekend, with trains operating on a Sunday schedule for the holiday Monday.

Metro says beginning Friday at 10 p.m. and continuing through Monday, trains will operate on normal schedules on the orange and yellow lines. On the green line, trains will run on a regular schedule except at the Greenbelt station, where on Saturday trains will arrive and depart every 24 minutes between 9 a.m. and 9 p.m.

Red line trains will operate every 20 minutes except between Shady Grove and NoMa-Gallaudet where they will run every 10 minutes between 9 a.m. and 9 p.m.

On the blue line, buses will replace trains between Franconia-Springfield and Van Dorn Street. The Franconia-Springfield station will be closed.
