Metro Announces Weekend Service Adjustment

WASHINGTON (AP) -- Metro says passengers will wait longer for trains on some lines this weekend as work is done to the rail system.

Metro says it will start its work Friday night at 10 p.m. and continue through system closing Sunday.

Metro says trains on the red line will run every 24 minutes, with shorter waits between Grosvenor and Judiciary Square during daytime hours. Metro says that on Saturday and Sunday from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. trains will run every 12 minutes between those locations.

On the orange and blue lines, trains will run every 20 minutes. And at the green line's Greenbelt station on Saturday only trains will arrive and depart every 24 minutes between 9 a.m. and 9 p.m.

The yellow line will have regular weekend service.
