Meet & Take Photos At Smoky Mountains This Weekend

GATLINBURG, Tenn. (AP) -- The Great Smoky Mountains National Park and the Blue Ridge Parkway are hosting an InstaMeet on Sunday for visitors to take photos and short videos to post on social media.

During an InstaMeet, people gather in a designated place at a specific time to make the photos and videos.

The event is being held from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. in honor of National Park Week and the National Park Service Centennial. The park said in a news release that visitors at national parks around the U.S. will be taking part in the event.

Two InstaMeets are planned in the Smokies: one at the Mountain Farm Museum at Oconaluftee Visitor Center and the other at Sugarlands Visitor Center.

On the Blue Ridge Parkway, four InstaMeets are set: Craggy Gardens Picnic Area, The Blue Ridge Music Center, Mabry Mill and Abbott Point.
