Medical Center Chain Offering Free X-rays Of Halloween Candy

SILVER SPRING, Md. (AP) -- A medical center chain is offering free digital X-ray imaging of Halloween candy, designed to detect possible objects such as glass, metal and plastic in candy.

Patient First medical centers, which has offices in Silver Spring, Rockville and Alexandria, is offering the X-rays, which will take place at its locations from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Saturday.

Patient First says it's also giving out free safety blinkers that can be attached to a child's Halloween costume. Those will be available while supplies last.
