MDTA Officer Struck On Route 50

ANNAPOLIS, Md. (WJZ) -- A Maryland Transportation Authority police officer was struck by a car along Route 50 in Anne Arundel County Tuesday evening, according to MDTA officials.

The crash happened near Whitehall Road in Annapolis.

The officer and another person were injured. The officer was flown to the hospital.

MDTA officials say the unidentified officer had minor injuries.

No word on the condition of the other person hurt in the crash.

MDTA is investigating the cause of the collision.
