MDTA: Multiple Injuries After Pursuit Ends With Rt 40 Crash

BALTIMORE (WJZ) -- Multiple people were hospitalized following a police pursuit that ended with a crash on Route 40  in Cecil County on Monday night, authorities said.

A police chase began in Baltimore before 10 p.m. and led up Interstate 95, a Maryland Transportation Authority spokesperson told WJZ.

At some point, the suspect vehicle got off the interstate and hopped on to Route 40 and later collided with another vehicle near White Hall Road, according to MDTA.

Multiple people were airlifted to hospitals, the agency spokesperson said.

It was not immediately clear which law enforcement agency started the pursuit.
