Md. Volunteer Fire Dept. Rescues Blind and Deaf Dog From Well

BALTIMORE (WJZ) -- A volunteer fire department in southern Maryland rescued a blind, deaf 11-year-old dog from a well on Tuesday.

According to the Prince Frederick Volunteer Fire Department, responders arrived to the 1900 block of Joanna Court shortly before 6 p.m. for a confined space rescue.

The family's cocker spaniel, Sam, had fallen 40 feet into a well that was being repaired.

Crews were able to set up a rope system with the truck tower and safely removed the pup after about 40 minutes.
