Md. Substitute Teacher Charged With Sex Abuse

GAITHERSBURG, Md. (AP) -- Montgomery County police say they plan to release details about sexual abuse allegations involving a substitute teacher.

Police say 50-year-old Jose Pineda of Gaithersburg is accused of sexual offenses involving female students in Montgomery County Public Schools.

Police say the offenses all occurred at school during the school day.

Police are holding a news conference at 11 a.m. Thursday to release more details.

Online court records show that Pineda was arrested Nov. 19 and remains held on charges of sexual abuse of a minor. The records list the dates of the alleged crimes as having occurred in 2004 and 2013.

No attorney was listed for Pineda in court records.
