Md. State Troopers Help Deliver Baby On The Side Of I-695

BALTIMORE (WJZ) -- A couple of Maryland State Troopers earned their overtime pay on Thursday night -- they helped a mother deliver her baby boy on the side of the road!

According to police, a motorist pulled onto the shoulder of I-695, where Troopers Edward Luers and Zachary Mills were working overtime at a construction site. The driver exited the vehicle and ran over to let the troopers know his wife was in labor.

The troopers immediately called EMS and began to administer aid.

With one push, the baby boy was delivered into the arms of Trooper Mills.

Five minutes later, the newborn and his family were taken to MedStar Franklin Square Medical Center.
