Md. State Police Who Served In Military Recognized

FORT MEADE, Md. (AP) -- Officials of the armed services and the Maryland State Police are paying tribute to state troopers who are also U.S. military veterans.

The Monday ceremony at Fort Meade falls on the eve of Veterans Day. It coincides with a Veterans Day commemoration and the birthday of the U.S. Marine Corps.

Organizers say the honorees include troopers who served in the military before Sept. 11, 2001. A similar ceremony was held last year to honor those who served after the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks.
