Md. State Police Arrest Suspect in Late-Night Murder

BALTIMORE (WJZ)-- Maryland State Troopers arrested a man early Friday morning connected to a Thursday night murder.

Troopers arrested Darryl K. Wise, 26, of Pocomoke City, Md., around 6:30 a.m. after they found Deontre' L. Bailey, 23, also of Pocomoke City, suffering from gunshot wounds.

Bailey was later pronounced dead at an area hospital.

After 10 p.m. Thursday, officers responded to the 100 block of Fourth Street and found Bailey lying in the street suffering from apparent gunshot wounds.

Early investigating revealed that Wise came to the location and was talking to the resident on the front porch, when several individuals, including Bailey, also came to the location and stood on the porch.

Witnesses said that Bailey threw a bottle at Wise and struck him. An argument ensued then Wise shot Bailey and fled the scene.

Police later arrested and charged Wise with first- and second-degree murder, reckless endangerment, first- and second-degree assault and handgun violations.
