Md. Officials Lend Safety Vests to Kids for Halloween

ANNAPOLIS, Md. (AP) — State officials in Maryland are lending reflective vests to children and their Halloween chaperones.

The Maryland Department of Transportation says adults can pick up the vests at most State Highway Administration maintenance facilities beginning Wednesday and ending Friday. The vests will be available on a first come, first served basis between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m.

The vests are being made available as part of the annual "Vests for Visibility" program.

The vests have to be returned by Nov. 4.
