Md. Man Pleads Guilty In UMD Student's Hit-And-Run

UPPER MARLBORO, Md. (AP) -- A Prince George's County man has pleaded guilty in a hit-and-run crash that killed a University of Maryland student from New York.

Thirty-year-old Liam Adepo of Hyattsville pleaded guilty Thursday to leaving a fatal accident scene. Prosecutors dropped other charges against him as part of a plea agreement.

Prosecutors say Adepo faces up to two years in prison when he's sentenced Jan. 30.

Adepo turned himself in to police on Jan. 18, the day after police say he hit 22-year-old Cory Hubbard as he was crossing a street mid-block at 1:30 a.m. Hubbard, of West Hampton Beach, New York, died soon after at a local hospital.

Prosecutors say Adepo was shown on surveillance video leaving a College Park pub and walking with difficulty shortly before the crash.
