Md. Man Gets 10 Years In Shooting Outside DC Club

WASHINGTON (AP) -- A Prince George's County man has been sentenced to 10 years in prison for a shooting that wounded one man outside a District of Columbia nightclub.

Thirty-year-old Jonathan Blades of Suitland was sentenced Friday in D.C. Superior Court. A jury had found him guilty in January of assault with intent to kill, aggravated assault and related firearms charges

Prosecutors say Blades got into a fight with a man who had been talking to his fiancee around 3 a.m. on Feb. 2 last year. Prosecutors say Blades then grabbed a gun from his car and shot at the man nine times as he tried to run away. The man was hit in his back and shoulder, but survived the shooting.

The nightclub is at 20th and K Streets in northwest Washington.
