Md. Man Arrested In 2006 Double Slaying

EDGEWOOD, Md. (AP) -- Authorities in Harford County say they've charged a suspect in a double slaying that occurred nearly nine years ago.

The Harford County Sheriff's Office says 27-year-old Bernard Davis Jr. of Havre de Grace has been charged in the fatal shootings of Waverly Lewis and Randolph Goodson. Both were shot in the head inside an apartment in Edgewood in September 2006.

Investigators were unable to develop a suspect at the time. The sheriff's office says cold-case detectives looked at the case again earlier this month and re-interviewed some witnesses. This time, they were able to identify Davis as a suspect.

He was served with an arrest warrant on Friday at the Harford County Detention Center, where he's being held on unrelated burglary charges.
