Md. Fire Officials Get Another K-9 Team

PIKESVILLE, Md. (AP) -- Fire officials in Maryland say a dog that has been trained to help in investigating fires has graduated from training.

The Office of the State Fire Marshal says the K-9, named Billy, graduated from training Friday. Billy's handler, Deputy State Fire Marshal Jeffrey Thomas, and Billy received a certificate after completing a six-week training course.

The pair are the state's third Accelerant Detection Canine Team. The two will go to scenes throughout the state but will be based out of the Upper Shore Regional Office of the State Fire Marshal.
