Mayor To Meet With 26th St. Residents About Investigation Into Collapse

BALTIMORE (WJZ) -- Baltimore's mayor will meet with residents along 26th Street to talk about the investigation into April's landslide.

According to our media partner, The Baltimore Sun, Mayor Stephanie Rawlings-Blake will meet with residents on Sunday.

In April, heavy rains caused part of E. 26th Street in Charles Village to collapse onto rail tracks below.

The mayor will discuss what caused the collapse to occur, who was responsible for it and what the city is doing to make sure it doesn't happen again.

Earlier this week, the city of Baltimore and CSX finally reached a deal, agreeing to split the cost of the disaster.

The entire project is estimated to cost $18.5 million.

The meeting will happen at noon at the FutureCare Homewood building along Charles Street.
