Mayor To Announce Summer 2015 Food Service Program

BALTIMORE (WJZ) -- Mayor Stephanie Rawlings-Blake will join Baltimore City officials, residents and members of the business community at the Enoch Pratt Free Library Wednesday morning to announce a free, nutritious food program to benefit children in low-income areas.

The Summer 2015 Food Service Program (SFSP) will provide healthy breakfasts and lunches to children during the summer months while they are out of school.

Any non-profit organization, church, day camp, community group or city agency may qualify to become a SFSP site.

The Summer Food Service Program for children and teens is funded by the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA), through the Maryland State Department of Education (MSDE), and is administered locally by the Baltimore Housing Office of Community Services.
