Mayor To Announce Plans For Fighting Heroin Epidemic

BALTIMORE (WJZ) -- The mayor will announce plans for fighting the heroin epidemic Monday at 1 pm.

A main focus of the event is how to save the lives of those using heroin. In the past year, approximately 18,900 people in Baltimore have used heroin, resulting in addiction for thousands of people.  

A new campaign to inform the public about naloxone, a drug that stop overdoses, will also be unveiled at the event by the Baltimore City Health Department.
