Mayor Rawlings-Blake, New City Schools CEO Hold Education Forum

BALTIMORE (AP) -- In advance of his first year as CEO of the Baltimore City School System, Dr. Gregory Thornton will host an education forum to greet parents and community members.

Thornton will be joined by Mayor Stephanie Rawlings-Blake Tuesday evening at Fort Worthington Elementary School in East Baltimore to field questions from parents and community members about the upcoming school year.

Thornton will embark upon his first school year as Baltimore schools CEO on Aug. 25. Thornton was previously superintendent of Milwaukee's public school system.
