BALTIMORE (WJZ) -- Tomorrow is expected to be a big day at the Maryland Zoo.

For the first time, visitors will be able to see their new baby giraffe, whose name was unveiled today.

There were six choices -- Safara, Opal, Ruby, Imara, Dottie and Willow.

The zoo asked for the public's help to name her, and received 26,311 votes. Willow got 32 percent of those, more than 8,000, to win the contest.

The name was announced during a ceremony Thursday morning.

"She's tall, slender just like the name suggests," said one zoo worker. "She looks like a willow tree, kinda represents her playful personality and we think it's a really good fit."
