Maryland Wrestler Charged With Attacking Woman In Pa.

STATE COLLEGE, Pa. (AP) -- A University of Maryland wrestler has been suspended after police say he attacked a woman at her central Pennsylvania apartment and tried to carry her away before other residents saw the incident.

The defense attorney for 20-year-old Justin Alexander, of Pittsburgh, didn't immediately return a call for comment Friday on the charges filed by State College police.

The Centre Daily Times says Alexander allegedly approached her in the apartment building about 1 a.m. Saturday and asked her for help with something.

That's when police say he assaulted and threatened the woman, then tried to lead or carry her from the building.

Police say the woman wasn't physically injured and got away when other residents saw what was going on.
The university says Alexander "has been suspended indefinitely for violating the student-athlete code of conduct."
